Air Drops or Care Packages are random equipment drops that come randomly timed during matches from passing C-130s which may contain ammunition, weapons or equipment. The plane’s distinctive turboprop engines can be heard well before it drops off the crate, giving players plenty of notice on arrival. During a random point on its flight path, a crate will be dropped from the plane, its descent slowed down by a single large parachute, a visible flashing white light on the crate itself improving its visibility. Once it hits the ground, a red smoke flare will be activated, signaling to anyone within its line of sight that it is ready to be opened. This makes it both dangerous for ill-equipped players and a feeding ground for those who are well-equipped.
